STEM Learning: Mathematics and Statistics Edition

April is Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month! Started in 1986, the goal is to increase the public’s understanding of and appreciation for mathematics and statistics. These websites are for parents, teachers, and kids to enjoy some numbers fun!

1.  Education.com

Education.com provides nearly 10,000 mathematical learning materials developed by educational experts. The site offers free downloadable worksheets that cover a wide range of math concepts for students of all ages and grade levels.

Additionally, the website has math games to help students increase their knowledge.

2. Khan Academy

Khan Academy is a non-profit organization that provides free learning resources for all grade levels. This includes practice exercises and instructional videos that students can take at their own pace even outside the classroom. Educators can also browse the website by grade level for materials to supplement in-class teaching.

3. Splash Learn

Splash Learn provides thousands of math educational resources for kids from Preschool to Grade 5. It includes worksheets and games ranging from number sense to geometry topics. Parents and teachers can use the free worksheets to help children develop their reasoning and critical thinking skills.

6.  NRICH

NRICH is a project by the University of Cambridge that provides free online mathematics resources for ages 3 to 18. The website contains games, articles, and activities focused on developing problem-solving skills. NRICH also facilitates events for teachers and students including webinars.

Math is Fun lives up to its name because of its easy-to-understand articles and enjoyable math games for children in Kindergarten to Grade 12. The materials provide concise sentences with graphics, making it a light read even for students.
