Youth Leadership Symposium

How do we empower the future S.T.E.A.M. Leaders of tomorrow? Empowerment starts with providing inclusive spaces to explore the various aspects of leadership: Communication, Problem Solving, Collaboration, Accountability, Integrity, Resilience.

This is a free, 1-day event designed to provide a space for the exploration of leadership. Various Leaders from High School, Collegiate and Professional fields will network and define what leadership is in this ever-changing world.

Steam Ahead’s Youth Leadership Symposium - April 19, 2025 (Boston COllege)

Creating a sustainable future is a top interest amongst youth today. Our 2025 Spring Youth Leadershp Symposium will be centered around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal #6: Clean Water and Sanitation.

During the Symposium, students will explore Environmental Engineering and cutting edge research being done at Boston College focused on water filtration and water quality. Through hands-on activities in state-of-the art labs, students will experience how engineers are making a global impact, explore college career paths available at Boston College and develop key leadership skills needed to excel in the STEM/STEAM workforce.

US Army ROTC - Paul Revere Battalion

Army ROTC is a college elective program designed to develop individual leadership skills for either a military or civilian career. The Paul Revere Battalion is part of Army ROTC’s 2nd Brigade (BDE). You can participate in the ROTC program during your freshman and sophomore college years without any military obligation. Unlike traditional college programs, Army ROTC gives you a wide range of experiences while you work toward your college degree. You'll combine classroom instruction with hands-on training. The results are skills that give you an edge over your peers when it comes time to look for a job.

National Society of Black Engineers (NBSE) - MIT Undergraduate Chapter

NSBE is one of the largest student-run organizations, having reach within the U.S., Canada, and, Ghana. Although it’s 20,000 active students and 790 chapters serve different local communities and set separate agendas, they are all united in on common mission: “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers that excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community”.
