Learning Beyond the Classroom - STEAM Kits
STEAM Ahead has created several Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) kits to help expose and educate students on various STEAM topics. We are taking learning beyond the classroom!
Navigate to your kit activity below for instructions and additional information.
Climate Change Kit:
This kit is designed to introduce students to renewable forms of energy which can help offset greenhouse gas emissions and thus reduce the impact of climate change.
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Air Pollution Kits: DNA Model, Lung Model, Air Pollution Catcher
This kit includes materials for students to create a DNA model, lung model and air pollution catcher. It is designed to introduce students to the science of the human body and the impact of air pollution and climate change on the health of people, animals and plants.
elementary SCHOOL STUDENTS
Medical Imaging KIT: Electromagnets and Fluorescent Materials
This kit includes materials for students to build an electromagnet and demonstrate the fluorescence of materials. It will introduce students to how STEM is used in medical imaging to help diagnose various health conditions.
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Engineering Kit: Anemometer, LED Card, Hovercraft
This kit includes materials for students to build an anemometer, design a LED card, and build a hovercraft. It will introduce students to the core concepts of wind, electronics and engineering.
Elementary & MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Science Kit: DNA Extraction, Rocket Explosion
This kit includes materials for students to extract DNA from a strawberry and to create a chemical reaction to launch a “rocket”. It will introduce students to two fields of science: Genetic Engineering and Chemistry.
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
